The Banquet Hall _ The Room of the Last Sunday

In the banquet hall, there are only three works of art, yet one of them is the largest in the runner’s collection. It depicts a Sunday scene composed of a stump, a cross, and religious facilities. The other two pieces are calendars in which the concepts of Sunday and the week have vanished.

For Earthlings, Sunday was once a day of complete rest, but with the intrusion of work and competition, work and rest became intertwined even on Sundays. The leisurely pace, tranquility, and emotional connections of Sundays became mixed with the objectivity and coldness of weekdays, and anxiety became prevalent. The remaining leisure time was filled with mindless entertainment that emitted audio-visual stimulation to captivate people’s attention. The runner felt a sense of sadness for the loss of the pure concept of Sunday and collected this fundamental scene of it.
